Talk about “sore” or what affects the cost of dental treatment

It is difficult to find a person who would not go to the dentist with “acute” pain. A person who is not familiar with this unbearable pain that interferes with sleep at night, forcing to take handfuls of analgesic tablets. At the same time, coming to the doctor’s appointment, the patient is surprised when the doctor voices the cost of treatment …

Surely you paid attention to such a word as “prevention”.Prevention suggests that you need to come to the doctor 2 times a year for a routine examination.
But, some patients believe that this is an unreasonable waste of time or the doctor will see something in order to earn money on me, while nothing bothers me, I brush my teeth, etc.

Unfortunately, our mentality does not yet recognize such words as “prophylaxis”, while in Europe people have long realized that coming to a prophylactic appointment is much easier and cheaper than treating your teeth “by ambulance”.

A tooth is the same organ as the heart, liver, it also plays an important role in the life of our body, performing the function of digestion, because the oral cavity is the initial section of the gastrointestinal tract.

Dental diseases can have different causes. As from internal causes, for example, diseases of organs and systems:

endocrine system
the cardiovascular system
gastrointestinal diseases
So external factors:

improper hygiene or lack thereof
malocclusion
bad habits
Each tooth occupies its position in the dentition, respectively, it carries a certain percentage of the load during chewing. Having prematurely removed a tooth, your adjacent teeth take on the load of the missing tooth.

Caries is an infectious and pathological process in the hard tissues of teeth, which only progresses over time and causes complications in the form of pulpitis (inflammation goes to the nerve) or periodontitis (the inflammatory process goes to the dental ligament).

Here I often hear: – Let’s wait, it doesn’t hurt me. And I, as a doctor’s, have another question: – what will we wait for when the tooth does not give you the opportunity to eat normally, when it gives complications in the form of edema on the face or when you will immediately need to be hospitalized ?!

And all these processes occur when you least expect it, for example, tomorrow I have a wedding, and from a toothache my whole face twisted; or today I have plane tickets, and my tooth kept me awake all night.

Arriving at the appointment, the doctor examines your oral cavity in order to make the correct diagnosis, because the diagnosis will determine which treatment to prescribe.

Sometimes, for making a diagnosis, it is not enough to examine the oral cavity and even not enough to take an aimed x-ray, and you will need to conduct additional studies to study in detail the localization, size of the disease, and only then you can choose a treatment that will give a positive result.

So, we are smoothly approaching the answer, which affects the cost of treatment
Studying the picture of the disease, the doctor makes the final diagnosis and offers various solutions to the problem. If this is a diagnosis of caries, then you may be presented with a different arsenal of materials. “What is their difference”, I often hear at the reception, of course there is a difference:

firstly, each composite has fillers that are responsible for mechanical strength, bonding systems that are responsible for adhesion, that is, the connection of the composite to the tooth. They are presented in different generations, which in the future can affect the strength of adhesion of the material to the tooth. Components are added to some adhesives, which can further suppress tooth sensitivity, as well as the occurrence of secondary caries, that is, caries under the filling.
various materials systems are presented in dentistry, they are all different from an aesthetic point of view, you must agree, this is also an important criterion. Especially, this concerns the restoration of the front group of teeth – everyone wants to have beautiful teeth that would look like “native” ones (in shape, color, transparency, gloss).
for a good treatment result, so that saliva does not get into the work area, the doctor takes care of good isolation, the cofferdam device is used.
Before treatment, it is necessary to anesthetize, the dosage of pain medication for each patient is different, since each patient has a different pain threshold.
also, we must pay attention to the preparation of the cabinet for treatment and the implementation of all the rules of asepsis and antiseptics,
sterilization, because it affects not only the quality of treatment, but also the condition of the body as a whole.
when we release the patient, we take care of the reliable disposal of biomaterials, which will not harm the environment, today a number of companies that utilize the used materials are involved in this, this is also an expense item.
If we consider a complicated form of caries, such as pulpitis, then the fate of the tooth and the life of the patient as a whole depend on the quality of root canal treatment.
