Metal-free crowns or crowns without a metal frame

Many years ago, a major breakthrough in dentistry was the possibility of applying ceramic mass to the surface of a metal cap. Ceramic masses are being improved more and more every year. The variety of colors, degrees of transparency of the masses, their strength is increasing.

For the metal frame, various alloys are used, including noble ones. And all the same, the use of cermets does not allow you to get the perfect aesthetics precisely due to the presence of a lightproof metal frame.

Today, metal ceramics have been replaced by metal-free structures – all-ceramic crowns on a zirconia framework and all-zirconium prostheses.

First of all, it is incomparable aesthetics and very high strength.

For comparison, the strength of crowns:

ceramic-metal crown: 70-80 MPa
pressed ceramics E.max Press: 380-400 MPa
zirconium dioxide: 800-900 MPa.
High esthetics is achieved due to the effects of opalescence and fluorescence (characteristic of the tooth’s own tissues). When installing crowns and bridges from these materials, there is no blue-gray gingival margin (which was an integral part when using cermet), and the likelihood of gingivitis (gum inflammation) is reduced to nothing.

Press ceramics and zirconia structures are fixed to the teeth with the help of special composite materials (unlike metal ceramics which are fixed to cement), thereby ensuring a monolithic tooth-crown structure.

An indisputable advantage is the possibility of using any type of non-metal ceramics for prosthetics on implants, allowing you to achieve the perfect result.

The iStomatolog Family Dentistry Center offers its patients the E.max Press system of non-metal ceramics, as well as the manufacture of bridge structures on a zirconia frame.

Our doctors will provide you with an excellent aesthetic result, gum health and durability of designs.
