Ozone therapy – treatment of caries without drilling teeth and without injections

Ozone therapy is the most effective method of destroying pathogenic (harmful) microflora in the oral cavity, used in the treatment of caries and other diseases of the teeth and gums. The use of ozone is especially effective for the treatment of superficial and initial caries, since this method avoids drilling (removal of infected tissue in the tooth), and this, in turn, helps to maintain the integrity of the tooth.

Ozone is an extremely powerful oxidizing agent and quickly disinfects the tooth surface. In other words, this is a very active modification of oxygen (a molecule contains three oxygen atoms). Reacting with the cells of microorganisms, ozone destroys the bacterial membrane and completely destroys it. Due to this, ozone is the best way to sterilize root canals, carious cavities and treat gum diseases (periodontitis).

We carry out ozone therapy using the KaVo HealOzone apparatus, which is effective in that the ozone supply is controlled by the apparatus, and the ozone itself is generated by a generator located in the apparatus. Due to the high penetrating ability and activity of ozone, complete tooth sterility is achieved.

The tightness of the supply of ozone due to the silicone cap or a special nozzle ensures accurate supply to the affected surface of the tooth. Ozone – does not cause allergies and does not irritate the mucous membrane.

The use of KaVo HealOzone in the early stages of caries can not only stop its development, but also avoid filling minor defects. If you treat the tooth surface before installing the filling with ozone, we can exclude the development of secondary caries for several years. Actually, this fact prompted us to write an article. Since those patients whom we treated the teeth with ozone before installing the fillings do not need to replace these fillings for about 15 years.

The action of ozone provides long-lasting and lasting treatment results, preventing the development of caries for a long time. After treatment with ozone, the tooth is covered with a strengthening solution, the so-called reductant, which accelerates remineralization and normalizes pH (acid-base balance).

The benefits of ozone therapy:
Absolute painlessness;
Lack of injuries;
No anesthesia;
The speed of the treatment.
The use of ozone can eliminate a number of problems in the teeth and oral cavity:
Fissure, cervical and basal caries;
Pulpitis (inflammation of the nerve of the tooth);
Stomatitis;
Herpes;
Remove tooth sensitivity.
The use of ozone is ideal not only for treatment, but also for the prevention of caries in adults and children. Finally, the use of the KaVo HealOzone is an effective treatment for oral diseases such as herpes and stomatitis. At the same time, destroying pathogenic bacteria, viruses, ozone acts only on the foci of infection, without affecting the healthy tissues of the teeth, gums and mucous surfaces.
